Funeral services were 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, at Golgotha Lutheran Church, Wausa, with Rev. Caryl Ritchey officiating. Lillian Luella Kumm was born December 18, 1916, in Creighton, the daughter of Ludwig and Nellie (Opkis) Kumm. She was a twin to her sister, Lucille, who died a month later. They were baptized by the Golgotha pastor at the Kumm home. She attended her first two years of school at Fairview School in Knox County. The family then moved to Pierre, South Dakota in 1924, where they lived for two years and then moved to a farm near Osmond. She then attended Lutheran School through the eighth grade. She was confirmed on March 20, 1923, in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osmond. She married Hans Christian Suckstorf on December 14, 1936, The couple had four children, Donald, Joyce, Carolyn and Mardell. She and Hans were later divorced. She married John P. Christensen on November 14, 1967. They lived in Grand Island, until 1974, when they moved to Magnet. She was employed at ordinance plants at Mead and Grand Island and the Campbell Soup Company at Fremont. She was also a licensed beautician and housewife. She was a member of Golgotha Lutheran Church, Wausa. John preceded her in death on August 5, 1977. In 1981, she moved to Bloomfield and in 1987, she became a resident of Good Samaritan Home in Bloomfield. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Keith) Knudsen and Carolyn Kool, both of Bloomfield and Mardell Neal of Fremont; one son, Donald (Wilma) Suckstorf of York; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose (James) Jensen of Wausa, Mildred Marks of Pierce and Hilda (Walter) Buhrman of Norfolk; and three brothers, Leonard Kumm of Bloomfield, Reinhold Kumm of Leavenworth, KS, and Vernon Kumm of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, one brother, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Bloomfield Observer, Mar 1987
