Description	:	Lillian R. Allen, 87, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Trinity Muscatine hospital. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casket bearers will be Don Allen, Bryon Allen, Kevin Silberhorn, Mark Stout, Ed Sawvell and Doug Shaner. Honorary casket bearers will be Gene Allen, Aaron Allen and Merrill "Bubby" Aubrecht. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Lillian's name. Lillian Ruth Aubrecht was born on February 12, 1923, in Johnson County, the daughter of George and Bessie E. Thomas Aubrecht. She married Vernon D. Allen on March 1, 1940, in Burlington. He preceded her in death in 1983. She had worked for CDS in Wilton for nine years as a mail sorter before retiring. She enjoyed working in the yard, planting flowers, weeding, fishing, playing cards and gathering hickory nuts. She will be deeply missed by her children, Donald Allen and his wife, Mary Faith, of Muscatine; Vernon "Gene" Allen of Letts, and Pamala Metzger of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Cathy and husband, Gus, Bryon and Vernon; six great-grandchildren, Aaron, Sonjia, Shawn, Ethan, Landon and Colin; five sisters, Kathryn Hebl of Hills, Marjorie Anciaux of Iowa City, Donna Zeithamel of North Liberty, Beverly Al-Rashid of Omaha, Nebraska, and Marlene Boerjan of Iowa City; and one brother, Merrill "Bubby" Aubrecht, of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Harold and Maynard Aubrecht; and two sisters, Lucille Kucera and Letha Musser. From: www.memorialobituaries.com
