The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 10, 1952 Lillie Susanna Koken, the daughter of A.J. and Susanna Koken, was born in Bethleham (sic), Pa., on July 26, 1881, and passed away at the Kimball county (sic) hospital on Jan. 6, 1952, having reached the age of 70 years, 5 months and 10 days. When about two years old she moved with her parents to Nuckolls county (sic), Nebr. On Feb. 1, 1905, she was united in marriage to A.E. Adamson at Harvard, Nebr., to which union three children were born, one daughter and two sons. Her son Loren preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1943. In 1916 they moved to Kimball county (sic), Nebraska, and located on a farm north of Bushnell. Later, in 1930, they moved to the town of Bushnell where she resided until her death. In 1899 she joined the Christian church (sic) at Nora, Nebr., and was a member of that church until her death. Since she moved away from that community she became an active worker in the Evangelical United Brethern church (sic) at Bushnell. She was a devoted member of the Women's Society of World Service, the Dorcas Society and a member of the choir when health and strength permitted. Among her last services which she was able to render was participation in the Christmas cantata. Music and song were her delight and she gladly offered her talent to the work of Christ's kingdom by which she brought happiness to many. She leaves to mourn her sudden passing, her sorrowing husband, A.E. Adamson, one daughter, Mrs. Pauline Johnson, of Dix, Nebr.; one son, Wayne of Bushnell; one sister, Ellen Overton of Bushnell; two brothers, Elmer Koken of Susanville, Calif., and Harry Koken of Bird City, Kan.; and four grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.
