Description	:	Lillian J. Marlette, age 86, of Plainfield, Iowa, was born the daughter of Folkert and Minnie (Dralle) Folkerts on June 26, 1914, in Butler County, Bristow, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from the Bristow High School. Lillian Folkerts was united in marriage with Vernon Marlette on October 16, 1934, in Bristow. They lived in Bristow for a short time and in 1938, they moved to a farm near Clarksville. This past April she became a resident at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville. Marlette, age 86, of Plainfield, Iowa, was born the daughter of Folkert and Minnie (Dralle) Folkerts on June 26, 1914, in Butler County, Bristow, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from the Bristow High School. Lillian Folkerts was united in marriage with Vernon Marlette on October 16, 1934, in Bristow. They lived in Bristow for a short time and in 1938, they moved to a farm near Clarksville. This past April she became a resident at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville. Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainfield and the Senior Citizens Group. She enjoyed watching birds and playing cards and bingo. She enjoyed fellowship with her neighbors and especially spending time with her grandchildren. At 3:40 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2001, Lillian died at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville, Iowa, of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon in 1971, two sons, Wayne and Virgil Marlette, her parents and one brother, Henry Folkerts. Lillian was survived by 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; one sister, Edna Bloom of Hampton, IA; two daughters-in-law, Joan Marlette of Plainfield, IA and Marlys Marlette of Waterville, IA; and one sister-in-law, Elsie Folkerts of Clarksville. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 29 at the United Methodist Church at Plainfield with Rev. R. Douglas Tharpe officiating. Organist was Jan Fritcher. Soloist was Roger Miller singing "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset" Honorary Casketbearers wereJay Mehmen and Art Mehmen. Casketbearers were Larry Marlette, Craig Marlette, Mark Marlette, Kevin Marlette, Brian Marlette and Jason Marlette. Interment was made at St. John's Lutheran–Vilmar Cemetery, rural, Greene.
