The death of Mrs. King is one of the saddest events that has ever visited this community. Young, married less than a year, favored with such surroundings as would make home and life happy, yielding up her life in fulfilling the destiny of woman, that of giving existence to another. Read More	From Nevada Representative June 22, 1881 Died. In this city, on Saturday, evening June 18th, Mrs. Lillie King, wife of County Treasurer Jay A. King. The death of Mrs. King is one of the saddest events that has ever visited this community. Young, married less than a year, favored with such surroundings as would make home and life happy, yielding up her life in fulfilling the destiny of woman, that of giving existence to another. She leaves a husband, and babe about two weeks old, who will never know the sweet cares of a mother, a father and mother and two brothers, besides nearly the entire community who have known her from childhood, to mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Reid, on Monday afternoon, at the residence, and an unusually large procession followed her to her last resting place in our beautiful cemetery. From Story County Watchman June 24, 1881 DIED--In Nevada, June 18th, after a short illness, Mrs. Lillie King, aged 24 years. Mrs. King, formerly Miss Lillie Day, has lived for years in our midst and was known and esteemed by all as one of the most amiable and devoted, and one that aimed to do good to all. Less than one year since she was married to Jay A. King, County Treasurer, and life was just opening up to her in all its beauties. She leaves her husband and an infant, father, mother and brothers to mourn her loss, and a large number of friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Reid, on Monday afternoon to an audience that bespeak the esteem in which she was held by neighbors and relatives, who followed her remains to their final resting place in the Cemetery. All tender their sympathy to the bereaved ones, and bid them look forward to a meeting where there shall be no more parting.
