Description	:	The funeral of Lillie Robinson Baker, of 615 Smithfield Road, North Providence, was held at the Georgiaville Baptist Church on Farnum Pike in Smithfield, RI. Mrs. Baker was the organizer and former supervisor of the WPA nursery schools in Rhode Island and for many years a Smithfield school teacher. Mrs Baker, whose teaching career harked back to the days of the one-room schoolhouse, died at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of Walter S. Baker. Mrs. Baker was the organizer and former supervisor of the WPA nursery schools in Rhode Island and for many years a Smithfield school teacher. Mrs Baker, whose teaching career harked back to the days of the one-room schoolhouse, died at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of Walter S. Baker. She taught for many years in Smithfield's one-to-one schoolhouse at Stillwater and later was assigned to the Irving S. Cook School in Georgiaville, where she became the first president of the Cook School PTA. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Georgiaville Baptist Church and for many years served as the Sunday School superintendent and played the organ. She also was a member of the Greenville Grange. Born in Lutherville, MD, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Fidler) Robinson, she lived in Smithfield for ten years before moving to North Providence 27 years ago. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, W. Robinson of Tampa, FL, Donald L. of Fairlawn, NJ, Gerald A. of Oaklawn, and Charlton S. of North Providence; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret B. Hodgins of Rumford, Mrs. Cecelia B. Dixon of Lexington, KY, and Mrs. Eleanor B. Miller of Whitefield, NH; a stepdaughter Mrs. Dorothy Hoar of North Weymouth, MA; and 19 grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Sadie R. Clark; and two brothers,James H. and William H. Baker, all of Lutherville, MD.
