Born Jan. 1,1907, in New Market, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Bessie Brashears Baker. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Lowman. She was a member of Calvary Methodist Church in Mount Airy, a charter member and past president of the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and past president of the Carroll County Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary. Read More	Lillie Mae Baker Lowman, 97, of Mount Airy, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at the College View Nursing Center in Frederick. Born Jan. 1,1907, in New Market, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Bessie Brashears Baker. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Lowman. She was a member of Calvary Methodist Church in Mount Airy, a charter member and past president of the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and past president of the Carroll County Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary. She also worked as a site manager for the Mount Airy Senior Center from 1976-1988. Surviving are daughter-in-law Catherine Lowman of Mount Airy; grandchildren and spouses Dale Lowman, Lisa Smith and husband Michael and Cheri Dods, all of Mount Airy, and Gina Reisberg and husband James of Westminster; great-grandchildren Jeffrey Lowman, Meghan Dods, Ryan Smith, Derek Dods and Chad Smith; and brother and sister-in-law C. Oscar and Edith Baker, all of Mount Airy; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Robert E. Lowman in October 2000; brother Earl Baker; and sister-in-law Thelma Baker. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, with the Revs. Franklin D. Bishop and Dennis Yocum officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Mount Airy. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. by the Mount Airy Volunteer Ladies Fire Department Auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company, 702 N. Main St., Mount Airy, MD 21771. Carroll County Times 12 Feb 2004
