Read More	Margaret Reetz Watertown Public Opinion (SD) - Tuesday, May 4, 2010 WEBSTER - Margaret Reetz, 92, Webster, died Monday, May 3, 2010, in a care center at Webster. Lillie "Margaret" Hutchinson, the only child of Carlisle and Jennie (Baker) Hutchinson, was born on a farm near Crandall Oct. 31, 1917. She attended country school at District 199 in Day County. She graduated from high school at Raymond in 1934, having lived there with her grandmother for those four years. After attending Northern Normal in Aberdeen, she taught school near Webster for two years. She married Walter Reetz June 20, 1938, in Watertown and they moved into a new home on the family farm. There she lived for 32 years with her husband, helping operate the farm until they retired and moved into Webster in 1970. After her husband died in 1972, she worked in Pierre for two legislative sessions and later in several Webster hardware stores. She was an active member in the Democratic party and Farmers Union, serving as a county officer in both for many years. She entered Bethesda Nursing Home at Webster in May of 2004, where she was currently residing. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, the outdoors, bowling, hunting and fishing with her family. She served as an officer of the Day County Sportsman Club. Her later years were spent being involved with Senior Citizens groups, visiting less fortunate, volunteering at Needs Anonymous and doing what she could to help those in need. She joined St. John's Lutheran Church at Webster in 1938 and became an active member of the church, serving in various duties including council and WELCA. Survivors include one son, Lyle (Linda) Reetz of Webster; one daughter, Nyla Amundson of Webster; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
