LILLY FRITZ, 85, PASSED AWAY AFTER LENGTHY ILLNESS -- Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Lilly Fritz, 85, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, with Rev. Sylvan Lee officiating. Mrs. Fritz passed away on Sunday afternoon in a Sioux Falls hospital after a lengthy illness. Lilly Koch was born March 2, 1885 near Tea. She grew up in this vicinity and attended school in Tea. On June 14,1905, she married Charles Fritz at Tea. The family lived on farms in the area and six years lived in Tea. In 1925, Mr. Fritz died. She continued to live in Tea until 1945 when she moved to Sioux Falls. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea and for several years was the organist and sang in the choir. She was also active in various organizations of the church and community. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Ella) Kolsh and Mrs. Alvin (Margaurete) Atkins, and five sons, Glenn, Harvey and Lester, Tea; Arthur of Crooks and Irwin of Harrisburg; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Hoyer, Mrs. Minnie Funk and Martha Koch, all of Sioux Falls. Pallbearers were grandsons, Roger, Gordon, Charles, Tom, Arthur and Charles Fritz. A large concourse offriends and relatives from the Tea area attended the funeral."
