While Lincoln and Mahala lived in Ky., he with numerous other men, went to Indiana or Ohio during the winter to work and returned in the summer for a few weeks. Obituaries - LINCOLN BAKER Lincoln Baker, 73 years old, carpenter, died Tuesday morning at this home, 1427 Ratliff street. He was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness church, North Eleventh and H. Streets, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. Thursday, in charge of the pastor, Rev. James Brockman. Burial in Webster cemetery. Friends may call at the home after noon Wednesday. Survivors are five sons, Alfred, of Richmond, Wiley, of Connersville, Charles, Oscar and William B. of Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Hampton, of Richmond, Mrs. Lucille Hadley, of Detroit, Mich; a sister Mrs. Martha Stamper; 19 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. (Richmond Palladium , Tuesday, 11 Oct 1938, pg 10) LINCOLN BAKER Funeral services for Lincoln Baker, 73 years old, carpenter who died of cancer Tuesday morning at his home, 1428 Ratliff street, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the Pentecostal Holiness church. Rev. James Brockman will be in charge and interment will be at the Webster cemetery. The body will be removed to the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, where the body will lie in state until time for regular services. (Richmond Palladium, Wednesday, 12 Oct 1938, pg 10)
