She died at home, surrounded by her family and cherished “doggies,” after battling Lewy Body Dementia for many years. Read More	Athens Messenger - October 11, 2018 Linda Dale Jones, 75, of New Marshfield, our beloved mother, wife, and sister went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, Oct. 7, 2018. She died at home, surrounded by her family and cherished “doggies,” after battling Lewy Body Dementia for many years. Linda was born March 19, 1943 to Francis and Mary Geneva Gose Robinson in Athens (Sugar Creek) County. She was the youngest of 11 children. She graduated from Chauncey-Dover High School in 1961. She married Richard Alan Jones on July 19, 1963. Alan and his “Pumpkin” lived their 55 years of married life in the same house in New Marshfield. Linda served as a caregiver to her family and the elderly her entire life. She cared for her mother devotedly until her death in 1982. She was a deeply-loved mother to her daughters and devoted wife to Alan. She worked as a CNA for over twenty years at Kimes Nursing Home and Russell’s Nursing home. She also worked for many years with her husband at Laughlin Vending. She was a woman who performed her acts of faith daily through her generosity and care of her family, neighbors, and elderly people in her care. She found her peace in life through caring for her many dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits on her little farm. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank, Jerry, and Roger Robinson; and her first child, Barbara Lynn “Barbie” Jones. Rather than donating to an established charity, Linda’s memory can best honored by reaching out to those around that are in need, such as a poor child, a lonely elderly person, or a starved and frightened dog. Final arrangements will be handled by Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany. Per her request she will be cremated. A memorial for Linda will be held in the spring. We would also like to thank Athens County Hospice for their care. Linda lived a life of hard work, humility, and the firm belief that “until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened” (Anatole France). Her soul was most certainly awakened throughout her 75 years of life. She will be forever loved and missed.
