Linda Katherine (Davidson) Hasstedt was born in Boone on December 3, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Martha (Eckhoff) Porter. Linda Katherine (Davidson) Hasstedt was born in Boone on December 3, 1944, the daughter of Fred and Martha (Eckhoff) Porter. She attended Trinity Lutheran grade school and graduated from Boone High School in 1962. She later attended class at DMACC Boone Campus. On January 6, 1962, Linda married Arlow Davidson in Boone. Arlow died in 2003. On July 3, 2005, she married William ‘Bill’ Hasstedt in Boone. With her marriage to Arlow, two sons and a daughter were born. Linda loved children, and began teaching music at the Central Christian Church Nursery School in 1969. Working 30 years, she became a teacher, co-director, and director. She started Small Miracles Preschool at the First United Methodist Church and retired in 2000. Linda was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir, LWML, and Sisters In Christ Circle. She enjoyed collecting angel figurines and hymn books. Linda also enjoyed playing the piano and violin and Tuesday coffee at the Dutch Oven Bakery with Class of 1962 women. She also volunteered at Westhaven Community and loved family gatherings. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arlow, mother and father-in-law, brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband Bill Hasstedt of Boone; two sons, Doug Davidson and wife Kristie of Orient, and Steve Davidson of Van Meter; a daughter Janelle Good and husband Keith of Boone; a brother Albert Porter of Boone; two sisters, Liz Stapes and husband Brooke of Story City, and Lydia Jackson of Boone; 12 grandchildren, Katie, Nick, Kayla, Chantz, Triston, Jase, Chelsea, Teejay, Breanna, Aimee, Kiera, and Keegan; five great grandchildren, Chloey, Jaydon, Kamie, Vienna, and Oscar; three stepsons, Mike (Debi) Hasstedt, William Hasstedt Jr., and John Hasstedt; two step grandchildren, Tiffany and Krystal; three step great-grandchildren, Tristynn, Riley, and Avery; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
