Description	:	Linda Lee Thomas was born on August 30, 1943 in Gregory, SD to Victor and Elinor (Lundberg) Rajewich. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Gregory and attended country school for eight years. Linda attended high school in Gregory and graduated as Salutatorian of her class of 1961. Read More	Linda Lee Thomas was born on August 30, 1943 in Gregory, SD to Victor and Elinor (Lundberg) Rajewich. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Gregory and attended country school for eight years. Linda attended high school in Gregory and graduated as Salutatorian of her class of 1961. She then attended college at Southern State Teacher's College in Springfield, SD. Linda married Jim Thomas on November 1, 1962 in Gregory. They made their home west of Iona where they taught school for several years. After teaching in Dallas and Humbolt, they moved back to the Gregory community where they raised two sons, Tim and Terry. Linda worked for the Gregory Clinic for many years and enjoyed her work there while her husband sold cars. Linda was an active member of the United Methodist Church. She was perpetually cheerful, caring toward others, and served the Lord with faithfulness and perseverance. After the deaths of her husband and mother, Linda retired from her work at Rosebud Family Clinic in Gregory and moved to Bethany Meadows in Brandon to be closer to her family and enjoyed watching her three grandsons grow up. She loved to attend the boys sporting events (especially football games at the Howard Wood Field) and spending time with her family. She was especially proud of her grandson Spencer's academic achievements. One of Linda's loves was sewing and knitting. She was an outstanding seamstress and loved to knit stocking caps to give to less fortunate and homeless children every year. She was well known around her retirement community for her sewing, knitting, stitching and quilting expertise. She provided daily devotionals to neighbors and volunteered in the chapel and the community store. Grateful for having shared her life are her sons Tim Thomas and wife Kay of Sioux Falls and Terry Thomas of Minneapolis; grandsons Cameron, Joshua and Spencer; sister Kay Pekas of Mitchell, SD; brother David Rajewich of Grand Junction, CO; and dear friend Lilly Whitney of Brandon. Linda is preceded in death by her husband Jim and her parents Victor and Elinor Rajewich. A funeral service for Linda Thomas, formerly of Gregory, was held on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Gregory with Pastor Elmo Herman officiating and Pastor Royal Archer assisting. Music was provided by Barb Durfee, pianist. Congregational hymn was "The Hymn of Promise." Vocalists Debbie Rausch and Lisa Rentschler sang "All Things Bright and Beautiful" and "One Day at a Time." Diane Shomion and Gabriella Dodway were in charge of registration and flowers. Casket Bearers were Tim Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Spencer Thomas, Lilly Whitney, Mark Rentschler, and Trevor Dodway. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Gregory, SD.
