Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with Reverend Ben Worley of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Brunsville, Iowa officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Brunsville. Linda Lou Pecks was born December 2, 1943 in Le Mars, Iowa to Herman and Edna (Luschen) Pecks. Linda was raised on a farm near Craig, Iowa. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Craig and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Linda attended country school near her home in Preston Township and graduated from Le Mars Central High School with the Class of 1962. During her high school years, Linda was a member of the dance team, the "Sparkettes". Linda was united in marriage to Max "Buddy" Utesch III on October 14, 1966 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Linda and Max farmed and raised livestock in Washington Township, rural Plymouth County. In 2003, Linda and Max built their log home on the farm. A home she enjoyed sharing with family. Linda enjoyed tending to her flower and water gardens, doing crossword puzzles, and reading novels. In later years, she enjoyed watching the birds and nature. Linda and Max also enjoyed supporting Heifer International programs to assist the needy. Survivors include her husband Max of rural Le Mars; three sons, Max Utesch IV and his wife Gretchen and their children Collin Sherlock and Keeley Sherlock of rural Le Mars, twin sons Brett Utesch of Olivia, Minnesota and Brook Utesch of Independence, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Sandra Sievers and her husband Bob of Sioux City and their son Rob Sievers; a brother-in-law, Walter Kleinhesselink of Le Mars and his daughters, Jill Foster and her daughters Abby and Ciara of Le Mars, Jodi Gutierrez and her husband Alvaro with their son Bartolo of Le Mars, and her daughter Tara and husband Jeff Burdette of Le Mars and several great-great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Edna (Luschen) Pecks; an infant son, Troy Dean Utesch; and a sister, Verjean Kleinhesselink and her in-laws Max Jr. and Hannah Utesch.
