Description	:	Linda Marie (Cheney) Eisenbraun, beloved mother and wife, passed away on Thursday, November 9th, 2017, from complications of cancer. She was well cared for by the exceptional doctors and nurses at Sanford Oncology Center and Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD. Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 13, 2017, at South Canyon Baptist Church. Inurnment will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Creighton, SD on Monday at 3:30pm. Born April 6th, 1948, to F. Julian and Marva Cheney, she was the eldest of nine children, growing up on a ranch along the banks of the Cheyenne River north of Wall, SD. She attended country school at Squaw Creek Elementary and graduated from Wall High School in 1966. She held an Associate’s Degree from Black Hills State University. Linda married Ed Eisenbraun on August 20th, 1967, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton, SD, and resided in that community until 1985. The joys of her life were her 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Born with a caregiver’s heart Linda not only poured her heart into her family but was involved in many organizations including community, church, and school functions. Ed & Linda operated a dairy farm and were very active in the area community and South Dakota Farm Bureau, receiving several awards for her work in Farm Bureau. Changing careers into motel management, this move took them across the western US, eventually landing in California where they lived for three years. Returning to South Dakota in 1992, they moved to Rapid City and went on to own and operate local area businesses. Linda was a stranger to no one; her heart and home were always open to those she met. When she rang the bell in the neighborhood, neighbors knew coffee and warm conversation were ready. Her friends and family enjoyed her generous spirit and adored her lively wit. Her beloved Soul Sisters walked beside her through thick and thin. She will be greatly missed by all. Linda is survived by her husband Ed; daughter, Darcey Eisenbraun; son, Brian (Lisa) Eisenbraun; daughter, Connie Gibney; son, Clay (Melissa) Eisenbraun; daughter, Tawney Eisenbraun; 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susan Dedekam, Eva (Rich) Cheney-Hatcher, Rachel Whitcher, Martha (Monte) Whitcher; brothers, Bill Cheney, Tom (Linda) Cheney; sisters-in-law, Renita Cheney, Karel Reiman, and Paula Eisenbraun; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and god-children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Marva Cheney; her uncle, Howard Cheney; aunt, Ruth Rasmussen; uncle, Vernon (Bud) Engel; brothers, Luke Cheney and Dick Cheney; nephew, Bart Cheney; and close friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Linda’s name to the Rapid City Christian School, Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
