Linda was born at home in rural Lucas County near Russell, Iowa on June 13, 1939, to Louise and Eddie Relph. The family moved to a farm in Cambria in Wayne County, Iowa in 1944. Linda spent her childhood on this farm. She loved music and played the flute, piccolo, trombone, baritone, and piano. She also loved playing six-on-six girls basketball and finished second in the High School State Free Throw Championship in 1957. Linda was married on June 15, 1957 to Richard Dean Seddon of Chariton at the Baptist Church in Chariton, Iowa. The couple made their home in Chariton and were soon blessed with three children: Carol Sue, Shari Lynn, and Gary Dean. Linda was a loving mother and excellent cook. She enjoyed sewing for her children and later, grandchildren. As a young woman Linda worked as a nurse's aide at Lucas County Memorial Hospital. Later in life, she was a secretary at the HyVee Corporate Offices in Chariton. Linda loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Hawaii with Dick. She had a great love of animals and raised sheep, chinchillas, dogs, and Shetland ponies. Several of the ponies became national champions. Linda is survived by her husband, Richard Seddon of Chariton; daughter, Carol (Steve) Loynachan of Chariton; son, Gary (Suzanne) Seddon of Chariton; daughter, Shari (George) Harders of Corydon and brother, Warren (Karen) Relph of Cambria. She had eight grandchildren: Amy Otten (Kevin) of Waukee, Iowa, Laurie Keller (Joseph) of Adel, Iowa, Allison Van Haaften (Nate) of Baytown, Texas, Daniel Seddon of Chariton, Matthew Harders (Amanda) of Fresno, California, Mark Harders (Desiree) of Clive, Iowa, Lucas Harders (Alyssa) of Corydon, Iowa, and Jennifer Goben (Cole) of Corydon, Iowa. Great-grandchildren are Samantha and Alex Otten, Caeden Keller, Drew Van Haaften, Bailey, Hannah, and Holly Harders, Hadley, Hayes, and Maxton Harders, Leah and Maverick Goben, and Jeremiah Brown. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Louise Relph; and her dear friend and sister-in-law Janice Relph.
