Description	:	Linda Rae Thomas, the daughter of Darrell and Jessie (Drayer) Shriver, was born May 30, 1946 at Jefferson, Iowa and entered into eternal rest on January 26, 2011 at Irving, Texas. She lived her life to the age of 64 years, 7 months and 26 days. Linda attended the Paton-Churdan Community School, where she was a scholar student and a star basketball player. Upon graduation, Linda attended and graduated from the Personnel Training Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. Read More	Linda Rae Thomas, the daughter of Darrell and Jessie (Drayer) Shriver, was born May 30, 1946 at Jefferson, Iowa and entered into eternal rest on January 26, 2011 at Irving, Texas. She lived her life to the age of 64 years, 7 months and 26 days. Linda attended the Paton-Churdan Community School, where she was a scholar student and a star basketball player. Upon graduation, Linda attended and graduated from the Personnel Training Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. She then headed for the "big" city of New York where she worked for Western Union and met her future husband, Gilbert Thomas. Linda and Gilbert moved to Ohio where Linda worked for 31 years for the State of Ohio. She retired in 2004 and moved to Dallas, Texas to be closer to her children. Linda is survived by her two children: Christopher (Denice) Thomas of Highland Village, Texas and Melissa Thomas (Rickey) Dudley of Copper Canyon, Texas, four grandchildren; Kennedy 10, Jordan 5, Dallas 6 and Dyson 5, a sister Dorla (Claud) Neiderheiser, three brothers; Larry (Mona) Shriver, Duane Shriver and Loren (Diane) Shriver, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. A celebration of Linda's life was held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 30, 2011 from the Salem United Methodist Church in Paton with Rev. David Arulnathan officiating. Burial was made next to her parents in the Dawson Township Cemetery west of Paton. Special music selections were sung by soloist, Doyle Carlson and accompanied by organist, Sally White. Visitation with family and friend was one hour prior to the service at the church. Information is from Brown Funeral Home website in Jefferson, Iowa.
