Linda was born on March 22, 1948, to Alvin and Florence (Schuette) Gerken of Wauseon, Ohio. She graduated from Malinta-Grelton High School with honors in 1966. On September 15, 1968, she married John L. Ritter at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio, where Linda was a member. Ritter, 69, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at the CHP Defiance In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance, Ohio. Linda was born on March 22, 1948, to Alvin and Florence (Schuette) Gerken of Wauseon, Ohio. She graduated from Malinta-Grelton High School with honors in 1966. On September 15, 1968, she married John L. Ritter at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio, where Linda was a member. Linda and John spent 47 wonderful years together before she lost her battle with cancer. Linda retired after working 23 years in the dietary department of the Lutheran Home of Napoleon as head cook. Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, bird watching, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Linda is survived by her husband, John; son, Mark (Joann) Ritter of Holgate; daughters, Shelley Ritter of Napoleon and Joni (Troy) Pedraza of Napoleon; sisters, Nancy (Mike) Imber of Findlay, and Saundra (Steve) Resendes of Defiance; brother, Doug (Bonnie) Gerken of Holgate; stepbrother, Curt (Diane Pickering) Badgley; and stepsisters, Candace Starkey and Cristeen Babcock. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, whom she adored, Joscelyne Garrison, James Hall, Kegean and Anna Ritter, Shayna and Sydney Eberle, and Paige and Lindsy Pedraza. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Gavin Pedraza. It was Linda’s wishes to not have a visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is under the care of Snyder-Hoening Funeral Home of Holgate. Memorials in Linda’s memory maybe made to CHP Defiance In-Patient Hospice Center of Defiance.
