Description	:	YORK - Lindell Ramon "Lindy" Klein, ChFC CLU, 64, longtime York resident and businessman passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home in York. He was born Jan. 19, 1948, at Stromsburg to Erwin L. and Kathleen (Hile) Klein. He spent his early years in Benedict, before moving with his family to York in 1956. Read More	YORK - Lindell Ramon "Lindy" Klein, ChFC CLU, 64, longtime York resident and businessman passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home in York. He was born Jan. 19, 1948, at Stromsburg to Erwin L. and Kathleen (Hile) Klein. He spent his early years in Benedict, before moving with his family to York in 1956. Lindy graduated from York High School in 1966 and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in 1970. He went on to earn his Masters of Science degree in Financial Services from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., in 1981. Lindy joined his father in the insurance business at the age of 21 spending the next 43 years in Insurance, Investment and Financial Planning. He truly loved what he did. His relationships with associates and clients went beyond that of business to true friendship. He was a charter member of the York Optimists Club, the American Society of CLU and ChFC, Lincoln Chapter, where he was past chapter president, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Lincoln Chapter, and the National Association of Realtors. Lindy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York for over 50 years, where he was united in marriage to Cathy Collins on Aug. 23, 1985. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cathy of York; a son, Lindell R. Klein II of Lincoln; a daughter, Erin Kathleen Klein of York; extended family, Weston Lewis and fiance, Sarah Perez of Lincoln, Stephanie Howe of York, and Stacey Allison of Lincoln; three brothers, James (DeAnn) Klein of Phoenix, Ariz., Regan (Stevie) Klein of Taylors, S.C., and Joel Klein of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at First United Methodist Church in York, with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in York's Greenwood Cemetery. Closed casket visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Metz Mortuary, York, with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Published in The Grand Island Independent on June 20, 2012
