He loved horses, stockcar racing and listening to bluegrass music. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Born November 8, 1931 in Pinkney’s Point, he was a son of the late Jerome and Madelaine (Clairmont) Surette. Lindsay was a retired fisherman and heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his former wife, Yvonne (Clairmont) Surette, Yarmouth, as well as by their children, Lindsay Surette, Yarmouth; Glenn (Darlene) Surette, Melbourne; Roland (Jody) Surette, Pinkney’s Point; Terence (Carol) Surette, Salmon River; Jonathan (Darolyn) Surette, Yarmouth; Stephanie (Gregory) DeViller, Arcadia; Jennifer (Eric) Burns, Grand Prairie, AB; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Adam Surette, as well as by brothers, Melvin, Peter, and Douglas Surette; sisters, Ada Boudreau, Hazel Harrington, Helen Gordon, Pauline Jacquard, Lydia Doucette and Elise Harrington. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 7-8 Monday, immediately followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m., all at H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Father Gerald David officiating. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
