Mr. Brown was born May 2, 1944 in Wilkes County to Linville Eugene and Dovie Pendry Brown. Mr. Brown was a US Army Veteran, where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his former wife, Melba Kay Brown. Surviving are one son, Linville Donald Brown Jr., of Raleigh; his mother, Dovie Pendry Brown of North Wilkesboro; six sisters, Joline Hendrix and husband Ransom of Hays, Rose Patterson and husband Troy of Greensboro, Hazel Roland and husband Hayden of North Wilkesboro, Reba Saunders and husband Paul of Palm Desert, CA., Peggy Riddle and husband Roger of Wilkesboro, Barbara Alford and husband Barry of West Jefferson; and one grandson, Andrew Brown of Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 4:00 o'clock Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Mt. View Baptist Church with the Rev. Julius Blevins and the Rev. Marvin Patterson officiating. Burial with military rites by the VFW Post 1142 will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mt. View Baptist Church from 3:00 until 4:00 o'clock on Sunday, prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 47, Hays, NC 28635.
