Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2013, in the First Baptist Church, St. Matthews, with the Reverend Dr. Thomas B. Huggins officiating. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2013, in the First Baptist Church, St. Matthews, with the Reverend Dr. Thomas B. Huggins officiating. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Friday, December 27, 2013, from 5:30 until 7:30 pm, and all other times at the residence. Born on February 25, 1931 in Calhoun County, he was the son of the late William Fred Hair, Sr. and Daisy Price Hair. He had been a resident of St. Matthews most of his life and farmed. During his 12 years of service in the National Guard, he had worked for SCE&G, Marlboro Electric Company, and retired from Tri-County Electric Co-op, with over 30 years of dedicated service. Mr. Hair was well respected and had the honor of serving on the Tri-County Electric Board of Directors and the Calhoun County Public School Board of Education. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, St. Matthews, and had served as a deacon and a trustee of the church. His love for his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and more importantly his Christian faith, was evident every day of his life. Mr. Hair will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Farnum Hair of the home; two sons, Linwood D. "Woody" Hair, Jr., and William M. Hair and his wife, Patty, all of St. Matthews; grandchildren, Lin Hair and his wife, Laura, Kristen Hildebrand and her husband, Ronnie, Daniel Hair and his wife, Meredith, and Olivia Hair; and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed in Mr. Hair's memory to the First Baptist Church, 303 West Bridge Street, St. Matthews, SC 29135, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral Home website
