Golden Linwood John Golden, 77, of Kellog Road in Springwater, formerly of Center Barnstead, N.H., died Tuesday (Nov. 8, 1988) in Noyes Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 26, 1910, in Pittsfield, N.H., a son of John and Nellie Locke Golden, he was married June 24, 1931, to the former Elizabeth Gray who died in 1982. He was married July 15, 1985, in Wayland to the former Ruth Webster who survives. He had lived most of his life in Center Barnstead, residing in Springwater from 1944 to 1952 and from 1985 until his death. He was a self-employed mechanic in Center Barnstead, He also had been employed at Wayland Central School as head mechanic of the bus garage from 1942 to 1952. Mr. Golden was a member and past chief of the Center Barnstead Fire Department and a member of the Wayland Masonic Lodge. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth, in 1959. Also surviving are a son, Richard of Center Barnstead; three brothers, Paul of Center Barnstead, Alfred of Gilmanton, N.H., and Daniel of New Hampshire; six sisters, Margaret Moody and Ruth Moody of New Hampshire, Frances Colegrove of Springwater, Gerry Hiltz of New Hampshire, Joan Westover of Florida and Jean Vlangas of Manchester, N.H.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A memorial service was conducted Sunday afternoon in the Springwater Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Porter officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Barnstead, N.H., with arrangements by the Chamberlin Funeral Home of Dansville. (GCE, November 17, 1988, p4)
