She grew up southeast of Ellis and attended a country grade school. She married Rudolph "Rudy" Honas on April 22, 1939, in Ellis. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1969. She grew up southeast of Ellis and attended a country grade school. She married Rudolph "Rudy" Honas on April 22, 1939, in Ellis. He preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1969. She was a homemaker, a nurse's aide and worked at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center for 38 years. She was a senior companion for 13 years. She was member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis. She enjoyed family, making quilts and tending to her yard. Survivors include a son, Marvin V. Honas and wife, Connie, Hays; a daughter, Betty Haselhorst and husband, Rolland, Parker, Colo.; a brother, Emanuel Befort and wife, Darlene, Ellis; a sister, Mary Weber and husband, Joseph, Ellis; five grandchildren, Joe, Jim, Jeff Haselhorst and wife, Lisa, Bradley Honas, and Robyn Bongartz and husband, Wayne; 13 great-grandchildren Mike, Mark, Andy, Chris, Jake, Sara Beth Haselhorst, Christine, Leah, Lauren, Sarah Haselhorst, Derrick, Samantha, and Brett Bongartz. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herman Befort, Alvin Befort and Wilfred Befort; and two sisters Tina Honas and Ruby Siedel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. A vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church or St. Mary Cemetery, Ellis, in care of the mortuary.
