Lloyd was born in Hyannis NE on November 5, 1943, the son of Emmerson and Dortha Lemmert Evans. He graduated Chadron State College in Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting. Lloyd served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966 and then the United States Navy from 1971 to 1973. Lloyd and Alda Beth Tooker were united in marriage on August 3, 1985, in Mullen NE. Alda’s job brought them to Topeka in 1997. Lloyd was a member of AA, with 33 years of sobriety. He was also a member of the VFW. Lloyd was an avid gardener. He became a friend of everyone he met. Lloyd’s greatest joy in life were his three daughters. He was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Lloyd was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. Grateful to have shared Lloyd’s life are his wife, Alda, of the home; daughters, Susan Lollman (Scott), Topeka, Nicki Bailey (Steven), Palmyra NE and Dori Dawn Smidt (Matt) Lincoln NE; four grandchildren; brother, Leroy Evans (Delores), Whitman NE; sister, Janet Wittrup, Cheyenne WY; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deloris Evans Anderson. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, 7433 SW 29th St, Topeka KS 66614, where family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitman Cemetery in Whitman NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka KS 66604
