Description	:	Lloyd B. "Peanut" Robie, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. He was born in Manchester, July 27, 1918, the son of Annie (Brown) and George W. Robie. He was a lifelong Hooksett resident. He attended Hooksett schools and graduated from Concord High School in 1936, where he was captain of the cross-country team. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Railway Battalion. "Peanut" Robie, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen. He was born in Manchester, July 27, 1918, the son of Annie (Brown) and George W. Robie. He was a lifelong Hooksett resident. He attended Hooksett schools and graduated from Concord High School in 1936, where he was captain of the cross-country team. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Railway Battalion. Mr. Robie worked at Rumford Press in Concord, then Boston & Maine Railroad in Boston and for a short time for the Hooksett School District. He will be remembered as the owner and operator for 35 years as the fourth generation of Robie's Country Store in Hooksett, in which, through the years past and present, was the campaign stop for many politicians. He retired in 1997 with the closing of store. He was a member of the Hooksett Congregational Church, the Hooksett Odd Fellows, Masons Jewell Lodge No. 94, American Legion Post 37, VFW, Hooksett Grange, Hooksett Men's Club, Hooksett Volunteer Fire Department, Pinnacle Fish and Game, Small Business Association, Hooksett Historical Society, Hooksett Entertainers, Hooksett Seniors, Hooksettite Entertainers, National Republican Committee and was a past Cub Scout master of troop 292. In his earlier years, Mr. Robie enjoyed fishing, dancing, flying, skiing (he was a ski instructor for Merrimount Ski School in Hooksett), playing the harmonica and traveling and was an avid sports fan.
