Description	:	Lloyd C. Elverud, 91, of Volga, SD, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at Brookview Manor, Brookings, SD. Lloyd C. Elverud was born May 4, 1916 in Oslo Township, Volga, SD to Tom and Mary (Lund) Elverud, he was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Volga. Lloyd attended country school at Oslo Country School District #97, rural Volga. Lloyd worked for area farmers and also farmed with his brother. Elverud was born May 4, 1916 in Oslo Township, Volga, SD to Tom and Mary (Lund) Elverud, he was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Volga. Lloyd attended country school at Oslo Country School District #97, rural Volga. Lloyd worked for area farmers and also farmed with his brother. He was united in marriage to Goldie Olson on September 25, 1940. They made their home on a farm west of Lake Campbell in 1943, where he lived until his death. Lloyd was a member of Lake Campbell Lutheran Church, where he served as a Trustee, an Auditor and on the Nominating Committee, he also served on the school board for Washington Country School #18, he was a Charter Member of the Lake Campbell Sportsmen's Club, Director of the Nunda Coop and Oil. He was a member of the Double "O" Antique Tractor Club. His hobbies included collecting Antique Tractors, especially John Deere and many hand tools. He enjoyed attending Prairie Village, where he and Goldie would volunteer for the plowing and tractor pull contests as well as taking the local children on their school outings for tours around Prairie Village. He also enjoyed hunting. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Goldie of Volga; two sons, Tom (Diane) Elverud of Volga and Graydon "Chip" (Karen) Elverud of Rapid City, SD; one daughter, Janice (Gary) Rudebusch of Watertown, SD; sister-in-law, Clarice Elverud of Volga; brother-in-law, Clayton Olson of New York Mills, MN; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Emil, Morris, Theodore and Harry; two sisters, Mae and Ruby and one great grandson, Nicholas. Funeral Services have been set for Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Lake Campbell Lutheran Church, Volga. Condolences can be sent to www.rudesfuneralhome.com
