Lloyd is survived by his daughter of Calgary, as well as xxx Pinder of Fort Macleod; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd is survived by his daughter of Calgary, as well as xxx Pinder of Fort Macleod; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was born on a farm near Granum on Feb. 8, 1917. In September 1924 the family moved to Fort Macleod, his home for the rest of his life. The family of 12 ran a dairy business, thus Lloyd learned early the value of hard work. On Sept. 12, 1941 Lloyd married Alice Simonson. Throughout their 54 years of marriage they worked side-by-side, first owning and operating the Macleod Dairy Farm, pasteurizing plant and home delivery. When they sold the dairy business in 1951 they donated the plant building and land to the Elks for their new Elks Hall. They continued farming until moving into town in September 1961. Lloyd retired in February 1982. Lloyd will be remembered for his cheerfulness, his willingness to give his all, and his love of family. He took his children (and friends) and his grandchildren (and friends) on many camping, fishing, hunting, and vacation trips. Hours were spent in his beautiful flower and lush vegetable garden. His delight of music and dancing took him to country dances, wartime jitney dances, and square dances. In August of 2009 he danced at his granddaughter’s wedding.
