HARRIS: Lloyd Charles Harris, the son of Daniel Lloyd and Mildred Grace (Craig) Harris, was born on March 30, 1921 at Mankato, MN, and was reard and educated in the Livermore area of Humboldt County, IA. He was united in marriage to Helen Marie Rosendahl on October 6, 1949, at the First Lutheran Church in Humboldt, IA. HARRIS: Lloyd Charles Harris, the son of Daniel Lloyd and Mildred Grace (Craig) Harris, was born on March 30, 1921 at Mankato, MN, and was reard and educated in the Livermore area of Humboldt County, IA. He was united in marriage to Helen Marie Rosendahl on October 6, 1949, at the First Lutheran Church in Humboldt, IA. The couple made their home on farms between Gilmore City and Humboldt, until moving into Dakota City, where they lived most of their married life. Mr. Harris was employed by Dodgen Industries as a welder for over 30 years. Lloyd could be found working in the garage, inventing or fixing things, camping, and helping people. He especially enjoyed spending time with his Family. Lloyd was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt, and a former member of First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. He was also an attendee of Our Saviour's Lutheran in Humboldt, while a member of First Lutheran in Gilmore City, before joining Zion Lutheran. He had been Baptized and Confirmed into the Christian Faith at First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City, IA. Prior to this he had been raised in the Methodist Church on the Harris side at Livermore and Gilmore City. He was called Home to be with the Lord at the Humboldt County Memorial Hopsital, after an extended illness of Lung Cancer, on the morning of April 14, 1987 - with his family by his side. He was 66 years of age. Lloyd is Lovingly Remembered by his wife: Helen of Dakota City, IA; son and daughter-in-law: Charles and Donella Harris of Dakota City, IA; grandchildren: Rebecca and Darrick Harris; mother: Mildred Harris-Larson-Worrell of Mankato, MN; brother: Alfred Harris of Mankato, MN; half-brothers and sisters: Kenneth Larson, Henry Larson, Beulah Volk, and Beverly Riesdale, all of Mankato, MN. He joins in Heaven his father: Daniel Lloyd Harris in 1938; his grandparents; sister: Hazel Westphal; and his father and mother in-law: Gerd and Ecke (Janssen) Rosendahl; and one brother-in-law: Arthur Rosendahl. Visitation was at the Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt, IA on Friday, April 17, 1987 after 2:00 P.M., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. After the funeral service, burial took place in Marble Valley Cemetery north of Gilmore City, IA, then we came back to Zion Lutheran and had a scalped potatoes and ham dinner, salads, deserts, and cake with family and friends. Thank-You: Thanks isn't enough to say for everyone's kindness and helping hands that they extended to us during Lloyd's illness and his passing on to his Eternal Home. Special thanks to I.MC for their over abundance of Tender Loving Care, to Dr. Northup, to Abe and the kitchen help; to Pastor Knolhoff and Vicar Lanigan for all their help, care, concern and their beautiful service; the ladies who served the dinner; to our neighbors, friends and relatives for all the food, memorials and all other kind deeds from anyone else.
