Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church, Decorah, with Rev. Marion Pruitt- Miller officiating. Connie Bolson was organist and congregational hymns were "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and "The Old Rugged Cross." Soloist Todd Walter sang "O Holy Night." Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church, Decorah, with Rev. Marion Pruitt- Miller officiating. Casketbearers were Bill McLain, Bob Teslow, Nick Kleg-seth, James McLain, Kavin Swenson, Darwin Melcher Jim Headington and Robert Brimacomb. Honorary Casketbearers were Gary Frye, Earl Winter, Tom Jewell, Gordon Fulsaas, Carsten Hovden, Walter Neshiem and Don Symmonds. Interment was in Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, and Schluter - Balik Funeral Home, Decorah, handled arrangements. Lloyd Cyrus "PeeWee" Wohl-ford was born Dec. 31, 1924, the son of Harry and Anna Marie (Iverson) Wohlford in Bluffton Township on the Lang farm by Babe Quandahl , who also baptized him at birth. The family moved to the Luther College farm, living there for 25 years. He attended the Moore country school near Luther. While in high school, PeeWee Wohlford played baseball and football, and graduated from Decorah in 1943. July 21, 1946, he married Olive "Ossie" Beatrice Halverson at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah. PeeWee Wohlford worked for Vernon and Margaret Wold near Caledonia, Minn., for four years; farmed for Fred McLain for 16 years; worked for Juve, Inc. doing equipment repair and then for Kirkeby Welding until he retired. He also tended bar at Matters Ballroom and managed the Legion Club before it was Nob Hill. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church. PeeWee Wohlford never worked on Sundays and always spent his day with his family, fishing, canoeing or hunting. Survivors include his wife: Olive "Ossie" Wohlford, Decorah; two daughters: Chris Bolson and husband Daryl, Lansing and Margaret "Mugs" Walter and husband Wayne, Decorah; one son: Tommy Jay Wohlford, Decorah; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; two special nieces and one aunt: Viola Halverson, La Crosse, Wis. Lloyd Wohlford was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Anna Marie Wohlford; one son: Lloyd, Jr., in 1967, and one brother: Harold in 1986.
