Description	:	Lloyd D. Fisher, 89, of Bloomfield, died at 1:10 am Sept. 26, 2012, at the Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. He was born Feb. 5, 1923, in the family home seven miles north of Milton to Clarence W. and Goldie Strait Fisher. He married Willene Mitchell; they divorced. He later married Mary Ann Baughman Spurgeon on Sept. 16, 1962, in the Bloomfield Christian Church. They recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary with family. He was born Feb. 5, 1923, in the family home seven miles north of Milton to Clarence W. and Goldie Strait Fisher. He married Willene Mitchell; they divorced. He later married Mary Ann Baughman Spurgeon on Sept. 16, 1962, in the Bloomfield Christian Church. They recently observed their 50th wedding anniversary with family. He graduated from Milton High School and from Bloomfield Junior College. Through his upper education years, he excelled at basketball and baseball, continuing to follow sports his lifetime. Lloyd loved the land, farming near Milton, Pulaski and Bloomfield. His real passion was caring for livestock. He developed one of the first Simmental herds in the area as well as raising Appaloosa horses. He was an avid outdoorsman, being a coon hunter and later riding jumping mules to hunt. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Fisher; a daughter, Cynthia R. Fisher of Ames; two sons, James w.(Kathy)Fisher of Atkins and L. David(Kathyy)Spurgeon and Jamie(Nate)Rissi; three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Chioe Spurgeon and Landon Rissi; a sister, Mary Louise Short of Milton; and a host of family and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Mavis Stookesberry and Ardis Baker. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; with Pastor Jack Knox officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and burial of the cremains will take place at a later date of the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski. Visitation will begin after 9 am Friday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Bloomfield Christian Church and to Hsopice of Wapello and Davis Counties.
