Description	:	Lloyd Ellis Solt was born to William Solt and Clara (Morris) Solt on June 23, 1911, at Central City. He passed away on Oct. 27, 1995 at his home in Ogallala, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 3 days. He was one of two children in the family. He was employed by the Burlington Railraod until he... Read More	Lloyd Ellis Solt was born to William Solt and Clara (Morris) Solt on June 23, 1911, at Central City. He passed away on Oct. 27, 1995 at his home in Ogallala, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 3 days. He was one of two children in the family. Lloyd attended school in Central City, graduating from Central City High School in 1929 He attended Central College for one year and assisted his uncle, Lesli Solt, in the Solt Funeral Home in Central City. He was employed by the Burlington Railraod until he enlisted in the army in Lincoln in 1943. He served in the Pacific Theater until 1945, and was then stationed in Butte and Billings, Mont., for two years. In 1947, he returned to Lincoln where he joined the Army National Guard, a position that he occupied until June of 1971. Since 1975, his retirement years have been spent with summers in Ogallala and winters in Sun City, Ariz. These retirement years were spent doing the things he enjoyed, primarily fishing, playing golf, and watching his grandchildren grow up. Lloyd was married to Leta Alma Wythers of Geneva on Nov 2, 1940, and to them two children were born. He joined the Congregational Church in Geneva in 1940, transferring his membership to the First Plymouth Church in Lincoln in 1953. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 54 in Lancater County, Sestris Temple in Lincoln, Eastern Star Temple Chapter No. 271, American Legion Post No. 3, and upon moving to Ogallala, joined the Big Mac Shrine Club. He also served for several years as a United Way Volunteer. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Solt. He is survived by his wife, Leta of Ogallala; daughters Virginia R. Adkins; and Carolyn S. Radcliff; brother Earl Solt, and six grandchildren. The Nebraska Signal November 8th, 1995 page 17.
