Description	:	Lloyd Henry Claassen, son of Henry F. and Ruth (Baker) Claassen was born June 29, 1930 at Longmont, Colorado. Lloyd died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Butte Health Care Center. Lloyd attended country school until the eighth grade and graduated from Spencer Public School in 1949. Lloyd was married to Doreen Schumann on August 18, 1957 at Spencer, Nebraska. Read More	Lloyd Henry Claassen, son of Henry F. and Ruth (Baker) Claassen was born June 29, 1930 at Longmont, Colorado. Lloyd died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Butte Health Care Center. Lloyd attended country school until the eighth grade and graduated from Spencer Public School in 1949. Lloyd was married to Doreen Schumann on August 18, 1957 at Spencer, Nebraska. Two daughters were born to them. Lloyd lived in the Spencer area most of his life. Lloyd had many trades. As a young man he did roofing and trucking; after he was married he worked as a fuel delivery driver and for the City of Spencer as their maintenance worker. Lloyd also was employed by Nebraska Public Power and was self employed doing electrical work. After his retirement, he assisted at funerals for Jones-Thenhaus Funeral Home and most recently for Brockhaus Funeral Homes. Lloyd is a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and a member of American Legion, VFW, and Masons. Lloyd enjoyed fishing and hunting geese with his many friends. Lloyd was in the Army and stationed in Alaska at the end of the Korean War. Lloyd is survived by: daughters, Connie (Jay) Seger of Atkinson and Julie (Marvin) Reiser of Butte; brothers, Dean of Emerson and Gary of Ozark, Alabama; sisters, Betty of Texas and Dr. Shirley of Neligh; brother-in-law, Ronald Schumann of Butte; sister-in-law, Sharron Lukens of Paonia, Colorado; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by: wife, Doreen; parents; three brothers-in-law; and five sisters-in-law. Burial in the Union Cemetery, Spencer, NE. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 78 of Spencer, Nebraska.
