Interment was made in the cemetery nearby. Lloyd James Dillon is the son of Frank and Mamie Clinton Dillon. He was born in Adams county, January 26, 1914 and at the time of his death was aged 17 years, nine months, and 28 days. The young man had been ill for some time, but was not considered in immediate danger, when he was taken with a hemorrhage and passed away suddenly. Many friends sympathize with the bereaved relatives. Creston News Advertiser November 30, 1928 Page 5 Lloyd James Dillon Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Dillon of Creston were called to Adams county Monday to attend the funeral of his nephew, Lloyd James Dillon. Lloyd was the second son of James Frank and Mamie Dillon and was born January 26, 1911, seven miles east of Creston. At that home his mother passed away march 15, 1916. The husband and father then moved with the children to the Arispe vicinity and later to the Carl, Adams county neighborhood where Lloyd died Saturday evening, November 24 at the age of 17 years and 10 months. Lloyd was of a quiet, loving disposition, and was always cheerful but when through almost all of his short life handicapped with serious lung trouble, contracted when about a year old. He was a constant sufferer, more or less, but through it all, was always bright and cheerful. His life was spent in Iowa except a few months in Colorado for his health. He joined the M. E. church at Carl a few years ago and died in that faith. He leaves to mourn him his father, J. Frank Dillon and one sister, Mrs. Marie Hardisty of the Orient vicinity. Two brothers died before, Earl Patrick in 1902 and Ira Paul in March 1926. There was a prayer at the home and the body was taken to the Adams county First Baptist church where the funeral was conducted by Rev. Z. M. Bressler, pastor of the Carl church. Burial was in the Forest Hill cemetery near the Baptist church. Six of Lloyd's cousins acted as pall bearers. The singing was done by members of the Carl choir.
