Description	:	Lloyd Joseph Anderson August 23 1905 -- July 6 1982 Lloyd Joseph Anderson was born August 24 1905 in Chromo Colorado to the union of James T. Anderson and Dolly M Confar. His grandparents were among the earliest settlers in the Chromo Area and Highway 84 was so named after them. Lloyd S childhood was spent in the chromo and Chama New Mexico Area . His grandparents were among the earliest settlers in the Chromo Area and Highway 84 was so named after them. Lloyd S childhood was spent in the chromo and Chama New Mexico Area . Those days were associated with hunting fishing and ranching a vocation which he nurtured his entire life. On September 14 1936 he started working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service , he was employed in this vocation for 39 years -retiring in 1975 . Over this period of time he was sought out for his vast wildlife expertise (specifically bear) In Addition, he was an expert on Southwestern Colorado's Mountains. Trails, Lake and streams. He killed one of the last grizzly bears in the state of Colorado and through this action he was indirectly responsible for the formation of the Weminuche Wilderness Area. For the preservation of the grizzly bear. With Lloyd's passing one of the last true mountain men of this area has been lost . Lloyd was a member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite 32 Degree. In addition to his many friends Lloyd is survived by his wife Goldie. His four children Lloyd Jr. of Carpinteria California : Myrtle of Pagosa Springs Franklin of Allison and Evelyn of San Jose California 12 Grandchildren 4 Great-grandchildren and a sister Bonnie Hyler Teller and Nephew J.D.
