Wilson, 84, of Bellevue died on Saturday November 15, 2014 at the Christian Elder Care Adult Foster Care Home. ---Mr. Wilson was born on June 7, 1930 in Homer to Clarence and Myrtie (Brown) Wilson. He graduated from Homer High School in 1948. Mr. Wilson served in the Michigan National Guard for four years. On June 11, 1949 he married Virgie Mae Brodock in Homer. Wilson, 84, of Bellevue died on Saturday November 15, 2014 at the Christian Elder Care Adult Foster Care Home. ---Mr. Wilson was born on June 7, 1930 in Homer to Clarence and Myrtie (Brown) Wilson. He graduated from Homer High School in 1948. Mr. Wilson served in the Michigan National Guard for four years. On June 11, 1949 he married Virgie Mae Brodock in Homer. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2003. ---Mr. Wilson owned and operated his own Dairy Farm in the Athens area for over 20 years. He also worked for the Eaton Company in Battle Creek for several years until the plant closed in 1981. He was a member of the Wolverine State Coon Hunters Club, and the North American Hunting Club. Mr. Wilson also raised and sold Quarter horses, Appaloosas horses, Jack Russell Terriers, Beagles and coon dogs for many years. He loved the outdoors and spent every night after harvest until the snow fell hunting raccoons! ---He is survived by his sons, Bruce (Cindy) Wilson of Battle Creek, Michael (Suzie) Wilson of Marshall, and Bill (Terrie) Wilson of Marengo; daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Kendall of Bellevue and Patricia (John) Dadow of Marshall; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Alva "Bill" Wilson of Rives Junction and Irvin Wilson of Palmetto, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter Judy Carol Wilson in 1951; sisters Doris Smith and Joyce Eplee; and a brother Clarence Wilson. ---Visitation will take place at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel on Tuesday November 18, 2014 from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating will take place at11am on Wednesday November 19, 2014 at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes Marshall Chapel 723 US 27 North Marshall with Pastor Steve Byrens officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Family will gather with friends following the committal services at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Homer Chapel, 303 South Hillsdale St. Homer. Memorial contributions in Lloyd's memory are requested to the Oaklawn Hospice or to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home Marshall Chapel.
