He had lived in Ottumwa most of his life and was a construction worker. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Sybil Schipper of Drakesville; stepfather, Evert Schipper; four sisters, Mrs. Marie James of Des Moines, Mrs. Barbara Speer of Ottumwa, Mrs. Margaret Rebol of Eldon and Mrs. Carolyn Six of Bloomfield; and one brother, Donald Petary of Fort Madison.
