Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center, located within Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at New Hope United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Lloyd Loren Whitlow was born on June 18, 1927, in New Boston, IL to William E. and Mamie M. (McNeal) Whitlow. He was united in marriage to Delores E. Wilson on September 27, 1946 in Muscatine. Lloyd served his country in the United States Navy. He was a heavy machine operator for Frandsen, owned and operated Whitlow Fisheries from 1963-1970, worked for his brother, Omar Whitlow, in the excavating business for 6 years, then worked for the city of Muscatine as a street maintenance supervisor from 1977-1989. Lloyd was a member of the American Legion and New Hope United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir for several years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching wrestling, WWE, MMA, kick boxing and most of all loved spending time with family and friends. Lloyd will be missed by his wife, Delores Whitlow of Muscatine; four children, David (Christine) Whitlow of Muscatine, Daniel (Tamara) Whitlow of Marion, Dennis (Rosemary) Whitlow of Muscatine and Deanna (Scott) Herald of Columbus Junction; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Shelby Whitlow of Bettendorf. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Omar Whitlow, Rozella Cromer and Phyllis Stone.
