Mr. Rogers was born in Horry County, a son of the late Simpson Rogers and Nora Johnson Rogers. He was a member of Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Superintendent for 18 years and also taught Sunday School. Mr. Rogers was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He retired from farming in 1969 and went to work for J.O. Baldwin Construction Company for over 20 years. Mr. Rogers was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.... He was a member of Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Superintendent for 18 years and also taught Sunday School. Mr. Rogers was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Surviving are: his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Rogers of Aynor; two daughters, Bonnie R. Nobles (Leneau) and Beth R. Dawsey (Steve) all of Aynor; four grandchildren, Eric Nobles (Wendy), Kevin C. Nobles, Brad Dawsey (Maggie) all of Aynor, and Ginger Dawsey of Myrtle Beach; two great-grandchildren, Eason Dawsey of Aynor and Erika N. Cox (Chase) of Germany; and one great-great-grandchild, Eli Cox of Germany. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Sunday Cool Springs Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Danny McLellan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
