His funeral was held Saturday, January 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church of Powers Lake. Burial followed in Bethel Baptist Cemetery of rural Powers Lake. Lloyd Milton Enget was born on December 24, 1912, on the family farm near Powers Lake, a son of John and Sophia (Breding) Enget. He attended rural schools for his education and he entered the U.S. Army on July 2, 1942. He served in the Pacific Theatre as a Tech. Sgt. in the Army Signal Corps and was discharged on January 8, 1946. He then returned to Powers Lake where he resumed farming and began working as a mail carrier. He was married to Ruby Vinge at Torquay, Sask., Canada, on June 29, 1946 and they continued to live on the farm near Powers Lake. He retired from both jobs in 1975. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where he served as both a Deacon and Trustee. He also sang in the men's quartet for many years. He was a member of the Ray Clemenson Post No. 96, of the Powers Lake American Legion and was active in both the Powers Lake Senior Citizens and the Powers Lake Park Board. He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Powers Lake; daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Laurel) Schlag of Minot, and Mrs. Kevin (Lorna) Carlson of Battleview, ND; four grandchildren, Jacob, David, and Jonathan Carlson, and Ashley Schlag; and sisters, Clara Grubb of Powers Lake, and Verna Bryant of Stanley. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bryan; sisters, Ethel, and Mabel; and a brother, Oscar. Thompson-Larson Funeral Home of Powers Lake handled the service. From the Kenmare News.
