Description	:	Lloyd W. Marty, 77, of Kearney died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at his home. Lloyd was born March 30, 1934, in rural Columbus to Adolf and Pauline (Loseke) Marty. Survivors are: brother-in-law, Calmar Herrmann of Columbus and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd attended Christ Lutheran grade school and graduated from Kramer High School. Lloyd was born March 30, 1934, in rural Columbus to Adolf and Pauline (Loseke) Marty. Survivors are: brother-in-law, Calmar Herrmann of Columbus and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd attended Christ Lutheran grade school and graduated from Kramer High School. He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 3, 1956, to Nov. 11, 1958. Lloyd then returned to the Columbus area where he began working as an electrician. In 1967, he began working for NPPD as a substation technician. He was transferred to Kearney in 1972, and he retired from NPPD in 2002. Lloyd was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney and served on the board of elders. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kearney. He enjoyed radio-controlled airplanes, snowmobiling, skiing and riding his motorcycle. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alva Lutjelusche, Helen Hoessel, Vernell Schroeter, Delores Zoucha and Vera Herrmann; brother, Raymond Marty; three infant brothers; and nephews, Merele Schroeter, Richard Hoessel and Randy Hoessel. Burial was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Platte County, NE. with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post 84. Published in Kearney Hub from August 27 to August 28, 2011
