Lloyd W. Moeller, 85, of Tripoli, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Tripoli Nursing Home.
Lloyd was born on June 30, 1924, in rural Readlyn, Iowa, the son of Herman and Sophia (Kuhlmann) Moeller. Lloyd was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Klinger. He attended country school near Readlyn. He was united in marriage to Lavonne Judisch on November 17, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buck Creek.
Lloyd farmed his entire life and fully retired from farming in 2006. He served on the Tripoli Community School Board for 16 years and drove school bus for many years....

Lloyd W. Moeller, 85, of Tripoli, Iowa, died on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at the Tripoli Nursing Home.
Lloyd was born on June 30, 1924, in rural Readlyn, Iowa, the son of Herman and Sophia (Kuhlmann) Moeller. Lloyd was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Klinger. He attended country school near Readlyn. He was united in marriage to Lavonne Judisch on November 17, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buck Creek.
Lloyd farmed his entire life and fully retired from farming in 2006. He served on the Tripoli Community School Board for 16 years and drove school bus for many years. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spent endless hours at his children and grandchildren's sporting events. His most recent highlight was watching his granddaughter, Morgan play at the 2009 State Volleyball Tournament. Other entertainment for Lloyd was playing cards and the many excursions to the casinos.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Lavonne of Tripoli, Iowa; two daughters, Diane Reinhardt and her husband, Gary of Waverly, Iowa; and Dawn Darrah and her husband, Steve of Waverly, Iowa; four grandchildren, Todd (Michele) Reinhardt, Traci (Corey) Hicks, Ryan Kuhrt, and Morgan Kuhrt; three step grandchildren, Kiersten Darrah, Lauren Darrah and Steven Darrah; three great grandchildren, Mason Hicks, Brady Hicks and Roman Reinhardt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Keith Lloyd in infancy, three brothers, Herman Moeller, Arlin Moeller, and Eldo Moeller Sr.; three sisters, Adele Koschmeder, Edna Schwake and Frieda Otto.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 10:30 am at the Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli. Burial will be in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Tripoli. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Readlyn. Memorials may be directed to the Tripoli Nursing Home, Cedar Valley Hospice, or to Grace Lutheran Church. |
