Description	:	Loarn Schwartz, age 83, of Huron, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at the Avera Heart Hospital at Sioux Falls. His funeral service was Friday, July 19th at Bethel Church with Rev. Coalt Robinson and Rev. Dennis Siebert, officiating. Burial was at the Bethel Church Cemetery with military rites by the Iroquois Bensley-Rounds Post #280 American Legion. Loarn Glen Schwartz was born November 22, 1929, to Carl and Louise (Graham) Schwartz in Wolsey on their farm. He started school in Wolsey; meanwhile, the family moved northeast of Yale where Loarn attended Myers and Tyrell School where he finished grade school. He graduated from Yale High School in 1948. On November 6, 1948, Loarn joined the United States Navy. He always took such pride in serving his county. His serving spirit was something that was shown through him throughout his life. He was honorably discharged on November 6, 1949, only to be called back to the Navy in February 1952. He then reported to the USS Grady and was again honorably discharged on December 6, 1953. On May 8, 1954, Loarn married the women of his dreams Rose Kleinsasser in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After marriage, Loarn worked on the family farm with his brother for 3 years. He then started working at the grain elevator in Osceola where he worked for 32 years, retiring as the manager. In 1958, Loarn chose to make the most important decision of his life, accepted the Lord Jesus into his heart and became a Christian at the age of 28. He always stated his only regret in this life was not choosing to follow his Heavenly Father sooner. His greatest joy was knowing that his Heavenly Father was living in him. He joined Bethel Church in 1960, where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Iroquois American Legion and also served as a Gideon. He took such pride in telling others of God's love. When Loarn and Rose chose to retire they made the decision to spend their winters at Bibleville in Alamo, Texas. They were blessed with 21 years of retirement. During these wonderful years Loarn found great joy in meeting new people and sharing laughs and tears with their special friends in Bibleville. Loarn grew in his faith greatly as he listened to the many speakers that were welcomed into Bibleville. The one thing that was so dear to Loarn's heart was watching his grandchildren grow up and seeing them follow the will of God. His greatest wishes for his grandchildren was that they follow their dreams and go wherever God leads them. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, LeRoy Schwartz on June 7, 2013; and two nephews, Todd and Tony Schwartz. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife of 59 years, Rose Schwartz of Huron; two daughters, Tanya (Dennis) Siebert of Mt. Lake, Minnesota and Lorna (Greg) Houge of Huron; six grandchildren, Jason (Anne) Siebert, Josh (Rachel) Siebert, Angela (Alan) Clipperton, Micah (Brittany) Siebert, Ashley (Derek Jangula) Houge and Brandon Houge; eight great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Maianna Siebert, Kianna and Aubryn Siebert, Lydia, Ezra and Jonah Clipperton and Norah Siebert; one sister-in-law, Shirley Schwartz of Huron; and two nephews and their families, Tim (Leila) Schwartz and Tyler (Judy) Schwartz all of Huron.
