Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements. 1932-2019 Born June 14, 1932, in Meadow Grove, Logan Schutt was the son of William and Agnes (Schleuter) Schutt. He attended Tilden Country School District 47, later receiving his GED. He served in the U.S. Army with the 489th Flying Battalion Basic, serving from Dec. 8, 1952, until Dec. 7, 1954. He married Phyllis Ellenberger on Aug. 19, 1956, at St. Paul's Church in Norfolk. Logan and Phyllis farmed south of Meadow Grove for many years. After farming, Logan did maintenance work for Green Line Equipment for 20 years until he retired. During retirement Logan volunteered at the Orphan Grain Train. Logan was a self-taught accordion player; even though he couldn't read music, he could play songs just by listening and memorizing the tone. Logan loved playing his accordion at many different nursing homes and senior centers. Logan enjoyed polka music; he was also a member of the Norfolk Men's Chorus. He was a member of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Norfolk, the American Legion and served as a volunteer EMT and firefighter in Battle Creek. Survivors include his spouse of 62 years, Phyllis Schutt of Norfolk; his children, Clinton (Doris) Schutt of Tilden, Dawn (Gaylen) Freeman of Norfolk and Denise (Gary) Heppner of Norfolk; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes, and a sister, Lucille Schutt. Organist for the service will be Jim Marshall.
