Description	:	Lois Ann Fjelland, Gregg, Hovick died on her 94th Birthday, June 1st, 2022. She was born on her parent's farm North of Huxley, IA on June 1, 1928. Her parents were Olem and Alma (Wee) Fjelland. She was baptized and confirmed in the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. She graduated from Huxley Consolidated High School in 1946. She was born on her parent's farm North of Huxley, IA on June 1, 1928. Her parents were Olem and Alma (Wee) Fjelland. She was baptized and confirmed in the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. She graduated from Huxley Consolidated High School in 1946. She started working at ISU after graduation. She married Thomas S. Gregg on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947, at Fjeldberg Church in Huxley. They lived and farmed in Boone County for 10 years. To this union three children were born, Dianna, Clayton, and Janet. She was very active with the Farm Bureau Ladies and was Township Chairman for 3 years. She also sang in the Boone County Woman's Chorus. Tommy died in an automobile accident in 1957. After Tommy's death, she and her 3 children moved to Ames, IA. In July 1959, she married Theroy Arthur Hovick and became the mother of his 3 boys, Larry, Jimmy, and Claude. In 1961, the family of 8 moved to Story City, where they became active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. They built and operated "Norske Bowl And Dine." She and "Ted" were avid bowlers and enjoyed bowling in various leagues and tournaments. Later, she went to work at Iowa State University as a Psychometrist in the Student Counseling Service for 31 years. After retiring from ISU, she and Ted traveled the USA, taking pictures for church directories and Shriners. They enjoyed wintering in Texas for 17 years. Playing cards with her "condo friends" was one of her greatest joys during her last years of life. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband "Tommy" and second husband "Ted," her brothers Orland and Kenny Fjelland, her sister Ruby Fjelland, and Grandson Christopher Hovick. She is survived by her children, Dianna (Dwight) Muench, Clayton (Julie) Gregg, Janet (Jerry) Handsaker, Larry (Diane) Hovick, Jimmy Hovick, Claude (Jane) Hovick, 10 Grandchildren, and numerous Great and Great-Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of life service will be Tuesday at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Following a luncheon, burial will be at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church Cemetery in Huxley. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 on Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
