Description	:	A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Eureka for Lois Cochrane Sloma who died September 22, 2001 at a local care facility. She was born on August 3, 1911 to George and Mabel Cochrane in Eureka where she grew up and graduated from Eureka High School. She was a descendant of the Cochrane and Melendy families who helped pioneer Humboldt County in the 1870s. Lois attended Craddock's Business college and married Aaron Sloma in 1941. She was born on August 3, 1911 to George and Mabel Cochrane in Eureka where she grew up and graduated from Eureka High School. She was a descendant of the Cochrane and Melendy families who helped pioneer Humboldt County in the 1870s. Lois attended Craddock's Business college and married Aaron Sloma in 1941. Her husband died in 1965 and she was later married to Bertil Munther. She worked in the Humboldt County Assessor's Office until her daughters were born and returned to work at Crocker National Bank after her family was raised until her retirement in 1976. She was very active in Camp Fire Girls as a group leader, Pal Camp leader/official and in, a county wide capacity. She was a charter member and first Honored Queen of Bethel No. 86 International Order of Jobs Daughters and became a 50 year member of Camellia Chapter No. 63 of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1982. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Sloma of Mountain View and Barbara Wrigley and her husband, Silas, of Chico, four step-daughters, Carla Munther of San Jose, Barbara Kingshill of Pleasant Hill, Beryl Avila of Carmichael and Helen Peterson of Mossy Rock Wash., a step-son Robert Munther of Bayside and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including Richard Sloma of Fortuna and Steven Sloma of Santa Ana. Memorial contributions may be made to Humboldt Historical Society or Humboldt Lodge No. 79 F&AM in Eureka in care of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home in Chico, CA who is handling the arrangements.
