Interment will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer and will continue on Friday from 9 a.m. till service time at the church. Lois passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE. Lois Elaine Asmus was born March 9, 1936 at Tilden, NE to Rudolph and Marie (Zurcher) Thies. She graduated from Tilden High School in 1954. On June 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Marvin Asmus at Norfolk, NE. The couple lived in Norfolk, where Lois worked as a bookkeeper. They moved to Beemer in 1969 and Lois resided there until moving to West Point in 2002. She had been a resident of Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer since September of 2009. Lois was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer and was a former member of the Beemer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and putting puzzles together. Survivors include- Children- Melinda and husband Merle Heller of Glendale, AZ and family Ben and Amy Heller Megan and Martin Herrera Kim and wife Lori Asmus of Omaha, NE and family Andrew, Alexandria and Amanda Asmus Daughter-in-law-Grace and husband Jerry Goldfuss of Verdigre, NE and family Brooke, Trev and Brandon Asmus Sister-Marjorie Johnson of Blair, NE Brothers- Robert and wife Donna Thies of Tilden, NE Lyle and wife Carol Thies of Norfolk, NE Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Marvin, an infant son at birth, and son- Harlan.
