Read More	LOIS EVELYN (STEWART) LIPKER Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, October 18, 2007 Retired Phillips County Treasurer Lois Lipker, 95, of Holyoke, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Centre Health and Rehab facility in Fort Collins, where she had been living for the past year in failing health. Lois Evelyn Stewart was born January 25, 1922 on a farm southeast of Holyoke the eldest child of Norman V. Stewart and Kate Mitchell (Cauble) Stewart. She was baptized at Holyoke Baptist Church and confirmed in the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke, where she had been a member for all of her adult life. As a youngster, Lois went to school in Holyoke for three years and then the one-room school in the Amitie Community southwest of Holyoke. She graduated from Phillips County High School in 1940. After graduation she moved to town and worked for the ASCS office. Lois married Arnold John Lipker on February 22, 1941, after which they took over the Lipker farm southwest of Holyoke. To this union were born a daughter Barbara Lois and a son Roger Arnold. After selling the farm in 1944, Lois and Arnold moved to Holyoke where she managed the household for several years, then went back to work in 1954 as Phillips County Deputy Treasurer. She held this post until 1975 when she ran for County Treasurer. Lois served as County Treasurer for four terms. She retired in 1990 after seeing the county through 35 tax seasons, integrating computer technology into the office during her final term. Lois enjoyed traveling to and participating in the annual Colorado County Treasurers Conventions where she was respected as an experienced professional by the state treasurers and county treasurers of both parties. While working, and especially after both she and her husband retired, they enjoyed traveling to see their children and grandchildren in the South and Midwest. She most enjoyed their several vacations to Hawaii. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Arnold, who died in 2004; her parents; and foster brother Edmond G. Robinson. She is survived by daughter Barbara and husband Brad Koontz of Fort Collins; son Roger and wife Ruth of Boulder; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren Brian and Lynda Koontz and Nicholas, Samantha and Alex of Ballwin, Missouri, Mike and Sherri Koontz of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Dave and Monica (Koontz) Gully and Gabrielle of Edwards, Kim Lipker and Bruce Becker and Anna, Alex and Emma Lipker of Fort Collins and Karen Lipker of Hermosa Beach, California; sister Mary Catherine and husband Don Hagedorn of Lakewood; brothers Dr. Norman Keith and wife Gwen Stewart of Morrill, Nebraska, Richard Arlan and wife Martha Stewart of Lakewood and foster sister-in-law Verna Robinson of Aurora. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends, including special friend Eldene Hinde of Holyoke. Funeral services were held Friday, October 12 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Rahe officiating. Interment followed at Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were made by Baucke Funeral Home of Holyoke.
