Description	:	Lois F. Douglas Mohlman 1924~2015 Louis Faye Douglas Mohlman, 91, was called to her heavenly home on Nov. 18, 2015. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through her life and ultimately gave her peace. Douglas Mohlman 1924~2015 Louis Faye Douglas Mohlman, 91, was called to her heavenly home on Nov. 18, 2015. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through her life and ultimately gave her peace. Lois was born to the late Jay and Iva Douglas, a farmer and homemaker respectively, in Riverton, on March 26, 1924. She attended a country school through first grade before attending Riverton through eighth grade. In 1938 her family moved and she completed tenth grade at Converton School, she then finished her education, graduating in 1942 from Blue Hill High School. Following graduation she taught school nearly 2 years in district 45. Lois was an educator at heart, she often shared fond memories of her time as a teacher. On Jan. 28, 1945 she married Albert Mohlman at the family home. To this union were born two children, Frederick Jay Mohlman and Sandra Lee Mohlman (ahlin). They were farmers until 1962, farming east of Blue Hill and on the Harvard Airbase. In 1970, after farming, they moved to Sutton. She worked for a short time at the Taut Arial spray, Clay County ASC Office and Clay County Clerk's office. In 1975 they moved back to Blue Hill. In 1985 they followed their children to Alaska where they had many adventures and made great memories before moving back to Blue Hill in 1988. Family and faith were central to her life. Her family will remember their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as a kind, strong and loving Christian woman who led by example through her work and through her deeds. She is survived by her two children, Frederick and wife Autumn Mohlman of Blue Hill and Sandy and husband Paul Ahlin of Anchorage, AK; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Albert; parents, Jay and Ive (Barton) Douglas; and four siblings, Clell, Lavern (Bud), Veva, and Ira. A celebration of life was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Hill, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 with Pastor John Dinkins officiating. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill. There was a luncheon following services at the church. The family requests that i lieu of flowers, memorials be given in her name to Home Away From Home, 736 N. Ransas Avenue, Hastings, NE 68901. Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
