Eicher, 88 Died: August 31, 2009, in Sunrise Country Manor Lois Fern Eicher was born December 19, 1920, on a farm west of Milford, Nebraska to Gottlieb (G.F.) and Anna (Lucke) Eberspacher, the 11th of 12 children, and passed away Monday, August 31, 2009, at Sunrise Country Manor near Milford at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 12 days. Lois attended country school and later graduated with the class of 1938 from Milford High School. On June 13, 1943, she was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Eicher at her parent's home. To this union three sons were born. They farmed near Milford from 1956 to 1965. While residing in Milford, Lois enjoyed her involvement at the Assembly of God, where, among many things, she utilized her talented singing voice and was very much involved in music all her life. Kenneth and Lois were both employed at the Milford Technical College managing the dormitories and other maintenance functions. In 1965, they moved to Lincoln and both Kenneth and Lois were employed for many years with the Lancaster County Health and Welfare Maintenance Department. In her youth, she was active in 4-H projects and was most proud of winning a trip to the 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. She also was an avid fan of many sports, and years ago loved going to many athletic events whenever possible, while at the same time living with symptoms of multiple sclerosis. Survivors include her son, Terry of Omaha; brother, James Eberspacher of Milford, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth in 2001, infant sons, Thomas in 1949, Timothy in 1951, her brothers, Floyd, Elmer, John, Homer and Harold Eberspacher; and sisters, Myrtle Wurst and Florence Packard, Luella Gatto, Phoebe Bartruff, and an infant sister, Verna Ruth. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Salem United Methodist Church, Rural Goehner, with Pastor Morris Stauffer officiating. Interment is in Salem Methodist Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to noon at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford, and 1 hour prior to services Friday at church. Memorials have been established to HoriSun Hospice or to the Sunrise Country Manor. Pallbearers are Shelly Bartruff, Tex Eberspacher, Doug Eicher, Stan Eberspacher, Doyle Eicher and Tom Gatto.
